Mercury retrograde

Mercury retrograde, a time for reassessment.

Mercury began his retrograde on the 26th of November and already we are seeing communication do overs! When Mercury goes retrograde, it appears to be moving backwards, and this brings about a period of time when communications can get a bit weird. You may experience misunderstandings, missed emails or messages, or they don’t get sent at all, so it’s a good time to double check all of your communications.

Mercury is in Sagittarius at the moment and will be retrograde until the 16th of December, so we have a bit of time to understand what this Mercury retrograde is teaching us. So far my experience has been to let go of the outcome and time frame that I want to experience.

You see, Mercury is also the thinker, so our thoughts will be a focus as well.

Mercury retrogrades usually bring about delays and misunderstandings and the lesson we are invited to learn here are allowing things to be as they are, even if it’s not how we would do something, acceptance of the outcome, as it will always be in perfect timing according to the Universe and to go higher with our thoughts and communications.

Talk up what you do want to experience and check your communications with the Universe because what you talk about or think of goes out to the Universe to be manifested. Don’t tell the Universe what you don’t want because that’s what you’ll experience more of, because your thoughts are on what you don't want, and not what you would like to experience or manifest.

This Mercury retrograde period can also be about going back over something that you’ve learnt because there’s a bit more to learn that you didn’t know was there and what you find will take you to the next level. The Sagittarius energy is full of knowledge and wisdom, and a person may think they know all they need to know, which is usually the case when someone has Sagittarius energy in their chart, and it can come as a bit of a surprise to find out there’s more to learn! We never stop learning!

You may be contacted by someone from your past which could come as a surprise, and you may also need to travel somewhere twice or go back over your where you’ve been as Mercury also represents short distance travel.

If you are signing any legal documents or contracts, it would be a good idea to have someone check them for you and when any planet goes retrograde, but especially Mercury, your journal may become your best friend. Writing your thoughts in a journal will release them from your mind so you can work them out a bit better.

Most people find Mercury retrogrades frustrating, and they can be, until you know what you are to be learning from them, so if you know the House or Houses in you birth chart between 6° to 22° of Sagittarius, you’ll have a clearer picture of the area of life Mercury retrograde will have you repeating or reassessing.
