Capricorn New Moon

The New Moon is at 9° of Capricorn on the 31st of December at 9.26am EDST.

Every New Moon is when the Sun and the Moon are at the same degree point and symbolise a new cycle beginning relating to the zodiac sign the New Moon is within as well as the House of this degree point in your own chart.

This is the second New Moon for the month of December and heralds a new beginning for 2025, making this is a very important Capricorn New Moon that will start something for you to develop in the new year. It’s always good to have a clear intention for what you want to create with every new moon and this is a special one.

This New Moon has an interesting energy about it because of the other aspects in the chart. There is a need to be on your own to work out which way you want to go from here, perhaps you are thinking of a new direction in life, and it’s time to do what you want to do because things haven’t been quite fair and equal in your relationships.

I feel this chart is signifying that there needs to be a new way of dealing with your fears of rejection or perception of any inadequacy, as the Capricorn energy gifts maturity and structure to build success and the New Moon is working with Chiron, which represents our fears of abandonment, but also your healing. It will depend on which way you choose to use this energy and it takes practice to use these energies in productive and healing ways and this New Moon is supporting your growth.

Saturn in Pisces is the ruler of this chart and he’s working with the New Moon offering you the opportunity to go higher to see the bigger picture of any situation you may find triggering and Mercury in Sagittarius is also helping the learning process  through conversations which could escalate as Jupiter in Gemini is involved here too, and Jupiter likes to make things bigger, and this could be exactly what the situation needs for healing to begin.

The larger aspect of this chart is the Mystic Rectangle working with Pluto at 1° of Aquarius, the North Node at 1° of Aries, Mars at 2° of Leo and the South Node at 1° of Libra. This energy is flowing and at the same time very powerful and could bring up resentment, discomfort and volatility, then a need to retreat quickly to process and learn from what took place.

I feel this could be from previous life times where the situation hasn’t been resolved and now the planets are helping to complete karma for our new way of being. I also feel it could be what you and someone else have agreed to work on prior to coming into this life and either one of you or both of you haven’t been learning because you’ve wanted everyone to be happy, possibly at your own expense, and now it’s coming to a head for you both to deal with, learn and grow from. This is big stuff and it’ll be worth the work once you’re on the other side of it.

Neptune is also involved with this Mystic Rectangle, gifting you with messages from your Higher Self in regard to this situation which can come out of the blue, suddenly and unexpectedly, so I imagine it’s good to have a heads up about this energy.

As Mars retrograde is in Leo, the situation may have something to do with a family member and your pride may be at stake, but you can do this, you can move through this situation knowing it’s for your highest and best as well as the other persons. This is definitely a time of change, a change that’s been coming for a while now, but you may not have had the courage to make the move before, and this situation will help you to move forward with your life.

Collectively this energy could be quite disruptive but necessary for humanity to evolve out of the restrictive Capricorn energies. Although New Moons represent new beginnings, it’s interesting that it’s at 9°, the number of completion and 2025 is a 9 year in Numerology, so the year will be about completions and endings for the new to begin for the collective.

Spiritually I see this as a time for great awakening, gifting opportunities that will support the evolution of humanity. More people will look for alternative ways of doing things, healing and growing as the old systems fall away, and the new way will be of a spiritual and universal approach to life, bringing in greater abilities to manifest, stronger intuition and downloads of information. 2025 is going to be a busy year and it will be highly beneficial to practice being grounded, aware and stable through the busyness. Regular times of stillness, perhaps through massage, meditation or Reiki.
